Audi Driver International 2005

Hi,

I also enjoyed the day, meeting those that could make it. It certainly dispelled many of the myths about modern car enthusiasts. As Richard said, Mike's illuminated badge was a real crowd pleaser. Even the die-hard Audi fanatics were impressed.

I have some images of each of us with their cars - but will wait to put them up on the a2oc site once it has finally been transferred.

It was good to talk to Richard's son Peter too - let's hope his competition next month is a success.

Some ideas for next year:

- Get ourselves a gazebo
- Get some club freebies sorted out
- Get some family activities organised (and bring the family along)

Then we can show those other Audi clubs just what they are missing out on when they consider mocking the A2.

Ben

Glad you all had a good time by the sound of it. I severely reprimanded my friends for getting married on this day - especially since it seemed to be better weather than the previous outings to Castle Coombe.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.
Was a Merlot Red 1.4SE petrol originally.
Now an Ebony Black 1.4SE petrol with Red Leather, CC, Symphony + all the previous options we had.

Sounds like you all had a good day...I'm sad I couldn't be there with my trusty A2!
How many A2s attended in total?

HI ALL
really enjoyed my first A2 Social i was a little dissapointed
at the turn out of 6 cars was a little nervous about organizing
the event as this was my first. I have never organized anything
like this before i thought it went very well without any hitches.

I would like to thank

Drn - Skipton01 - Shezlee - Hollyrescue & Peter - Dubbsy & mate
for making it such a great day i enjoyed every minute and felt very
welcome ....A great bunch of lads very easy to get along with ...
Lots to talk about so if ever you get the chance to come to
another A2 social I Can well recommend it ...............

Hollyrescue the tea and biscuit's where my wife's idea
if she had had her way she would have been cooking you all
a big fry up LOL !!!

Peter good luck in America mate hope for an update on that
as well as a new car still think the car is staring you in
the face hey why dont you have dads A2 and he can get a
new one before there all gone ....

Hey Skipton01 thanks for sharing that ebay misunderstanding
thing with the group and relinquishing me of that Title
Glad that post got burried LOL !!!!Better get working on

Dubbsy dont worry next year when we drive the RS4's
i will tell them to put some ballast in my car its only fair
that they give us an equal chance LOL only joking mate ...

Drn agree with everything your saying anything we can do
to put our point across to gain more members i definatly
think that Skiptons Lights got us noticed what a puller
was also thinking perhaps we could save our pictures for
the rebirth of the A20C website or newsletter, something
for people to look forward to do we have an ftp where we
can upload our images.........

The highlight of the day other than driving the
4.2 S2 Quattro V8.
Had to be when we all took to the track
i was right at the back following you all
just as you get to the bend on the main start finish straight
i was touching 90mph
considering we where supposed to be doing 30 mph
that was a rush and
not a speed camera in sight LOL !!!!
ROLL ON NEXT YEAR .......[24]

Just a couple of questions chaps, cos I'm nosey like that.

I believe Peter is competing at this event (correct me if I am wrong Richard): http://www.bnbf.co.uk/events.html. He is a bit of a legend in his field by all accounts!

Hi all... Really enjoyed the whole event and it was good to put names to forum names and faces to those names. Still very much in the early stages of A2 ownership and I must say it's great to be amongst such a good bunch. Picked up some valuable info from you about A2 ownership and some 'sound' advice from Skipton about audio options - cheers fella

We should definitely aim to get a bigger turnout next year. Maybe some really early plugging of the event so people can book it in their diaries well in advance and a bit more of the Wooly style windscreen flyers on any A2s you see about.

At least I now know I don't need to bother saving up for an S4, unless they do one with stabilisers...!! You wait til we organise that Karting event Wooly...!!

That gentle cruise around the circuit in the setting sun was just fantastic and really wrapped the day up, especially as we managed to go out in convoy style. Sweeping through the esses into old paddock and round hammerdown was great fun and then chucking it through bobbies was not to be missed. Managed to get a couple of shots while we were on the track and will add these to my photobucket for all to have a look at - http://photobucket.com/albums/a270/dubbsy/Castle Combe/?sc=1&multi=7

And yes, thanks Wooly for organising everything, a good job well done.

Cheers everyone and see you next year if not sooner...
Dubbsy

Fairbrother, the handsome fella in pic 1 is yours truly, star of....well...not much.
Peter is representing Great Britain in the World Championships of natural body builders,i.e. drug free. He competes in the heavyweight class in New York, I think the comp.is Nov 12th.
He may look fairly ordinary when in normal clothes and not pumped up, but when he is, he's "awesome" as they say in the body building trade. I think you saw the dedication necessary to succeed in a very hard sport, he had to refuse Woolys biscuits!
Wooly, so it's a fry up next year, sounds Ok to me.

Peter has added a link to his website (see above post)to A2OC, and added some very complimentary comments about the CC day out and the members he met there. Certainly NOT prompted by me.

Nice to see you all had a good time. Our Saturday was spent on the Autoroutes driving back up from Orange the scenic route - if you have never taken the Autoroute through the Madelaines the views are fantastic.

Must persuade SWMBO to let me come next year.
