Audi Driver International 2005

I did a cruise retro-fit for a chap from Wootton Bassett yesterday, name of Bill Asty - drives a blue TDi.

WAS : A2 TDI SE 2001 Ebony Black Pearl (The Little Tank!)
NOW : A2 TDi 90 Sport, OpenSky, winter pack, ISOfix, all-round fogs, climate control, all-round electric windows, Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54, genuine HID xenons and red leather! Not to mention CCC Tech chipping (118bhp), K&N air filter, all round tinting, all-black headlining and retro-fitted cruise control and GALA.(The NEW Tank).

him about the A20C and Castle Combe Day as its only just
up the road from here....;)

I Have decided to meet at the Large Car Park nr Castle Combe
village as in previous years if we get there for 8:30 in the morning
then that means we will guarantee ourselves a good spot at the event
I Realize that for some people this may be a little early as they are travelling a long way and may get held up in traffic so that is why i am sending the passes to you just in case you are late arriving for any reason .........or may just wish to arrive later out of choice .....

I'll do my level best to get there for 8.30, but I've never done Newport to Wiltshire at that time of day, so might be way early or way late.

Either way, I'll be there (might even bring a cruise kit or 2 with me if anyone's interested).

Wooly, I think 10ish would be more likely for us to arrive at the circuit. I have to collect 2 others, and as Peter is in training he will insist on his diet and a bit of a workout before we can leave. Can't complain, he is representing GB in the world championships in USA in early Nov. Wish him well, he will be embarassed, but so what.

Wooly, I hope so, but I can't get in touch with Peter in spite of leaving many messages. I hope he remembers it's tomorrow. I'm reluctant to drive the whole trip (chemo). The car is loaded up already so I hope he contacts me soon.

Profuse apologies for not being there but I've picked up a dose of the lergy/cold/flu whatever and am spending the day at home close to a box of kleenex. Hope you have/had a good day.

Well, speaking as an Audi Driver International virgin, I thoroughly enjoyed the day out.
It was a small, but enthusiastic and really friendly showing from the A2 Owners Club and was great being able to put faces to names.
The 'sedate' laps at the end were an absolute blast - 90-100mph is far from sedate in my view, but it certainly gave the ESP a workout in the chicanes!
I hope that the club can now go on from strength to strength and that next year, we can at least double the club stand size - A2s are getting more popular (typical now that they're discontinued!) so hopefully, we can swell our active membership now.
Anyway, thanks to all concerned for a great day out and have a look at the few snaps I took today.

I thoroughly enjoyed the day in some very good company, a smaller turn out than last year, but a quality one. It was also a very sociable day with most of us sitting around the cars and eating Woolies biscuits! A lot of interest was shown in Skipton's LED Audi badge, and also the address of A2OC, quite a few photographing the sticker in my window (do we need more?).

We had a good entry in the Audi Driver Experience, but sadly no finalists, good fun though, I suppose we all want an S4 now.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 30mph Grand Parade at the end, we were just in front of Skipton at 30 mph most of the way, well some of the way!

It was nice that we all met up and the end and said how we looked forward to next year, same place in spite of rumours to the contrary. If you didn't come you missed a treat (not only Woolies biscuits).
