Audi Driver International 2009 - Saturday 10th October - Daytime Event & Gala Dinner

Saturday 10th October, Daytime Event

:) Just made my donation, will be coming down with my son.

If there is anyone going down from the Birmingham - WestMidlands Area, who will be going down the M5 can they give me a shout as i'v never been to this event.

Thought i would start this as we are getting closer. We just looked at Bretti's pics and we missed out last year for photo op', if its not to much trouble could the first peeps to arrive at the car park, park along the back so we may get a good photo af the line up

Just a thought

Audi Driver International - Daytime Event

Just in from Autometrix:

Further to previous note, we can now confirm that Allan McNish is also planning to come along to the Audi Driver International track day, during the afternoon, and it is quite likely that he¹ll be driving a few lucky visitors around the circuit....

Feel free to make this known to A2OC members ;)

Cheers,

Mike

some lucky visitors-----hmmm... that would be chris(ulp) as he won the flying lap(s) in the rs4/6 with the audi test driver chap last year.lucky lad. cheers mike

I would spare the lardy RS6's embarrassment on a small track. However, I would most like to see the V10 R8 on the track! And perhaps the TT-RS as well.

For some reason, I sense a seriously good trade car, a highly tuned 2.0 TFSI quattro TT running 300bhp+ at the wheels.

If I can get my Paypal account to work and pay my donotaion Ill be there on the day if there's any spaces left on the stand.

Glad to see you're in Colin - be nice to catch up again!

Assuming that Robin and Maddy are coming in the one car (you're arrangements noted Darren), there's ONE space left on the club stand.

We have 25 passes and these are allocated to the 24 members having donated as follows:

Mikeee
Murdo
DarrenC
A2Sumo
Grim Reaper
Driveforward
Humps
Robin (& Maddy)
Richard-
Teresa
Shezlee
Widdy
A2BlueSport
Pamanal21
Hotstuff
MytA2
AndyTR
Heidi
Ben
Ezza
Sojah
Colin
WoolyA2
Me

So, there;s one place left!

I am hopeful of being able to squeeze more of us into the stand area, but as we need the passes in the window on arrival, there's no guarantee

Cheers

Mike

Mike, That's great news!

Is this the biggest showing of A2s we've ever had?

Really looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing all the little A2s all in a row!

Think we had 30 a couple of years back, but this is a really good turn out.

If it weren't for the pass situation, I wouldn't be closing the donations just yet, as I believe we could get past 30 this year.

However, I don't want to be in the position of having to disappoint anyone or giving a refund - I'd rather not have the donation in the first place if there's no pass available.

The A2 as a car goes from strength to strength and the A2OC seems to follow suit. We'll have a great presence there this year with club branding very visible and as long as the weather holds, this years ADI will be a fantastic day for all concerned.

It's the members who make this club and I thank you all

Cheers,

Mike

Yeah Mike, it's a great club for sure. And yourself and the rest of the co-owners and assistants tirelessly work so hard, and with so much enthusiasm for the club and A2 that this is all part of the pleasure of owning one of these little crackers.

A big THANK YOU to you all!

Eric

Thanks Eric - who's been watching too much F1 then?;)

That little phrase is starting to become pervasive - "for sure".

It certainly shows you how quickly the English language is evolving, or should that be it shows you how quickly the English language is evolving for sure!

Cheers,

Mike

Ahhhh, you've noticed that all the F1 drivers have been saying that as well then!!!? I even heard Bernie say it, did you?

I thought I was the only one to notice that little phrase! Not quite sure why I said it in my post just now. It must be pervasively getting into my psyche, for sure!

Eric

Going completely off topic here, but talking about the F1 today, did you see the little bit just after the grid walk where Ari Vaatenan cut across Bernie to shake hands with someone?

Bernie gave a massive look of insignation, walked around Ari, then a hand came into the camera shot (a knarled and old-looking one!) and shoved Ari in the back!

At which point, Jean Todt, who was watching, laughed!

Bernie has gone on record as supporting Todt as the next President of FIA - he doesn't like Vaatenan, especially now!

I've got it recorded and if I can work out how to get it off my HDD recorder, I'll try posting it to You Tube.

Cheersm

Mike

Right - back on topic!

Off topic again for a mo, but in reply, no I didn't see it - but soooo would love to have done!

Back on topic now - I am really looking forward to the event at Castle Coombe, and think it is testament to the cohesiveness of the club members that so many are travelling from so far to attend. Excellent!

Eric

Really looking forward to ADI. I'll bring along all the Audi Driver mags I have recieved for the past year subscription. Still can't believe I won that last year.

Now for the bad news!!!
I will not be attending in myt (A2), engine has gone pop. Looks like one of the cams stopped.:confused::confused: Maybe things happen for a reason.

So I will no longer require a slot on the A2OC stand:(

I hope that Miltek's on now! Looking forward to seeing that again!

Sorry but have had no time to fit the Miltek, but must do it over the winter along the koni's

Colin

Malc - there's no need to bring the magazines along - those are yours to keep now!

Sorry to hear of things going bang - you'll not be showing us all up then this year. Place on the stand duly noted, but at least you'll still be there?

Cheers,

Mike
