Back with an A2 Project – A2Steve

Don't do it Mandy, you'll end up with another A2.
I'm more curious as to why I have never seen it when it is only 500 yards from my mum's, but I guess with the limited milage over the last 6 years it doesn't come out too often which personally can be very detrimental to an FSI.

Is that the one on FB, sport model with false floor?

Ian

The TT comps that I’d fitted were in good condition but had a few kerb marks around the lips. As I’m not sure how long they will be staying I didn’t want to fork out for a full refurb. Rim blades have traditionally been fitted by chavs to add a fluorescent band around the edge off their wheels to match their “Monster” energy drink stickers; but now they’ve brought out a slimline version that are far more subtle. At £24.99 delivered they have covered the kerb marks on the wheels very well and add a nice finish to the wheels in my opinion.

Hi @A2Steve
First dibs if you decide to sell the "Comps" please.
Mac.

I felt with the grey wheels and grey bodywork something was missing, so today I’ve got busy with the paint and painted the roof line silver. Took inspiration from the A1 and I’m very happy with the result, it’s just what it needed.

Will pot close up shots once it’s had time to harden and be polished back.

Seriously tempted to do this to Tonka but in gloss black to match the open sky and change the mirrors for black ones.

Maybe do it in vinyl wrap Incase you don’t like it? There was a moment just before I started spraying when I thought what am I doing, but had to go in then feet first ?

I’ve photoshopped it already and I’m pretty convinced. Won’t be doing it myself though ?

That looks amazing Steve, the way the silver picks out the highlights in the wheels is very effective. Happy coincidence ... or visionary genius if you had that in mind all along! ?

I'm loving the look of your A2 Steve, I really like the wheels and the silver works well in contrast. Great job mate.

Tonight I’ve been trial fitting some TT seats using the breaker. They sit perfect for me because they are so much lower. Bit of fettling to do though.
It's a shame the A2 isn't like the Caddy I used to have where you just fit the seat bases from a Touran and it allows you to fit almost any seats across the VAG range.

I wonder if there are any other seat bases that would fit the A2 and allow this?

I think I’ve got a solution that should work for relatively easy fitment, but it will involve some welding so I’ll need to ask a favour of a friend.

I think we should collectively commision a long wheel base A2 for @Bargepower given the amount of A2 part couriering that he does for us all. Very thankful for the delivery of a pair of cream leather rear seats for me yesterday from @TYP 8Z to go with the TT ones that i'm in the process of fitting.

Had a nice visit from Bob @Jellybean too, who has kindly donated a set of brackets for the TT seats. I think i'm going to weld them to the TT seat runners and will be calling on help from @Hef.

Once again, another of my projects is taking shape because of the collective help from the community :)
