How much are you paying for diesel?

Theres talk of fuel reaching 150p a litre later this year;!

Having a wry smile at myself and the whole fuel price situation now - less than 4 weeks since I posted the above and its already over 150 in many parts of the country.

And to think we had rolling road blocks and LGV picket lines at the refineries at the thought of 80p a litre!

Maybe apathy with all things economic/political and being grateful that most of us are not directly affected by current disasters and warfare in the world is preventing a tougher stand being taken on fuel costs? - but something will give and the public will say no to these spiralling prices. Theres talk of some tax reduction is Scotland, but only for rural areas that are hit hardest.

Just announced in today's Budget that fuel duty is to be cut by 1p as of this evening. I wonder if that'll translate into lower pump prices?
April's planned 4p fuel duty rise has been put back by 12months and the fuel duty escalator has been scrapped.

They may have reduced fuel duty, but the oil companies will have to pay the duty lost. So in effect no reduction at all. The companies will have to get the money from the customer who purchases their product us:mad:

My local filling station has got around the problem of paying the extra tax they are liable for, by keeping the price the same by not removing the 1p duty cut:mad:

Cheers

And this mornings news reported that some stations put the price up pre-announcement to then bring it down to the same (pre) level.

Well, I spotted several of the garages on my drive to work this morning had lowered their prices by 1 or 2 p/litre, and several hadn't moved at all. You take your pick I guess.

I just got done by a Motorway Services BP at 148.9/litre for Diesel. I felt almost sick pumping at that price.

How much:mad: how much higher can it go? At this rate I will have to go on a diet to reduce the wheight in the car lol

I know. The worse of it is is that about 10miles later I passed a Murco garage at 142.9 :(

I think I'm going to resurrect my plans for additional under-body shrouding, any aero tweaks have got to be worth it...

The Shell garage in Bristol is charging 139.99 for diesel but drive just outside near the airport and it is 144.99 at that shell garage, also 144.99 at shell in Weston, highway robbery, Dick Turpin had nothing on these guys

My last fill up was at 147.9p/l for Shell V-Power Diesel.
However, according to Andicar on my GalaxyTab, that last run got me an average of 57.14 mpg. 1.75 gal/100mi. 521 miles, and the DIS still said I had mileage left :)

Current readings are saying 30 miles left, with 530 on the clock

£ 1.489 / litre today on the motorway (which is always extortionate). £ 1.419 at the garage nearest home.

... and speaking of underbody shrouding, I've just been up to Mike @ Skipton Autos for a service & I now have the exhaust tunnel cover & FSI winglets :)
