If we are gonna go 80s 90s. Then soul2soul, snap(the power) and klf spring to mind
that version's compressed. even Spotify on extreme is guilty of this.Has a bit of everything, wait till 2.37
This would be probably one of my favourite road trips if your music was anything to go by...some pearlers in there...Prompted by @A2Steve 's issues a while ago when he thought there was something ill in BOSEland with his stereo, I thought I would start a thread with some suggested listening to show off the quality of the BOSE system, and indeed to test whether it is working okay. To encourage collaboration I'm not saying this is any kind of definitive list, and I'm perfectly happy to add to it as suggestions. Hopefully we can get stuff which suits most people's tastes.
So, my starters:
- Tone Loc - Funky Cold Medina
- The Cranberries - No Need to Argue
- Pet Shop Boys - Young Offender (Jam & Spoon Trip-o-Matic Fairytale Remix No 1) Although this does tend to go a bit "too" low for the BOSE, and can induce pretty bad rattling if played too loud
- Pink Floyd - Dogs of War (from Delicate Sound of Thunder)
- AC/DC - Thunderstruck
- Stevie Wonder - Superstition
- Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter
- Michael Jackson - Wanna Be Startin' Something
- Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
- Grace Jones - Slave to the Rhythm
- The Jam - Start!
- Prodigy - Out of Space (rather than Firestarter, but I know what you mean Steve )
- Stranglers - Nice & Sleazy
- Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart (from 90125)
- Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
- Robert Miles - Children
- William Orbit - Adiago for Strings
- Snap - The Power
- KLF - What Time is Love (Which version though ...)
- Seal - Hey Joe
- Erasure - Oh L'Amour
- Jamie Cullum - Don't Stop the Music
- Jamiroquai - Didjital Vibrations
- Yello - The Race (maybe not the full 13:23 minute version...)

Question....do you leave them to play all the way through? My wife gets twitchy fingers and skips to next track after about 30 secs. ...like having an over grown teenager in the passenger seat!!!!
WOW SAM! Some great tunes up there, I'll have to have a bit of a go through, a playlist of your own on there. I can't remember if you have BOSE or not, but it would be interesting to hear a side-by-side comparison if not.
Indeed!! Hoping for a better night tonight.Off the top of my head Frankie has a non OEM head unit, but standard speakers which would make things interesting. I'm currently listening to a Sony MPX-70 stereo using the BOSE speakers (sans-bass boost) whilst I await Tom's visit to finish off JRV - I have to say it doesn't sound too bad at all. It certainly shows what a difference decent speakers make.
I'm assuming the girls weren't sleeping very well is why you were replying at 2 in the morning btw Time for ZZzzs
links for you:
Kaas:(go from Disc 2 Track 7 and enjoy the groove)

that Beth Orton track is great if you like female vocals and acoustic guitars. Apparently the new Florence and The Machine album is nicely recorded...
