South West Social 2021 - 30th May

Added to Calendar: 30-05-21

Hi Steve
As I live within walking distance of the suspension bridge, I'd love to take part. Could you add me to the list, please. Apologies for the tardy response! Be good to see you and everyone.

Al

Very much welcome Al. Good to hear from you. See you a week Sunday.

My last SatNav cost me over £500, but that was well before the iPhone came out

On my first iPhone it didn’t come with navigation only the Nokia of the time did, google maps hadn’t advanced to this point, I paid £70 for the tom tom app... which doesn’t even exist now

I’d forgotten about the Medion PDA I bought because it had gps antenna and sat nav from a German discount supermarket around about 2003!

The Tom Tom Go app exists though. Works as well as a stand alone Tom Tom

@A2Steve - you know the other week we were talking about the scuttle pieces that go under the windscreen wiper? Although I am not going to be able to come on the South-West run (being in Scotland), I am hoping (Indian-variety return to lock-down notwithstanding) - to visit my Mum (near Tavistock north of Plymouth) with my daughter once the schools here finish for summer in early July.

Unfortunately due to work schedules again, it looks like I'm going to have to do the Dundee-Plymouth-Dundee runs overnight in 48 hours at beginning and end of my daughter's stay rather than having the luxury of a few days down there during which I could cruise up to Aberdare and back. Consequently, is there anyone on the SW run domiciled in the vicinity of Plymouth to Exeter (as either is easy to get to from there) who would be able to accommodate a couple of scuttles for me so that I could pick them up within an hour or so of our destination rather driving the 3 and a bit hours to Cardiff or beyond and back from there - as I doubt Steve would be too happy at me appearing at 3.45am on the way back to Dundee....?

Bit of a cheeky one I know, but fingers crossed. Thank you all!

When are you expecting to pick up as my son lives in Exeter

I should point out here that I was very cheeky posting this here last night without asking Steve first if he has space to transport the parts on the day, and I offer an apology if this isn't the case - A2oc is a very special place where folk do a lot for each other altruistically, so I really should have asked him first before posting here. I have sent him a PM as well this morning on this exact question, but thought I should hold a hand up and apologise in public for being so presumptuous in advance. Again though, thank you all.
