Today I.....

Not sure I get the nomenclature here? Arent all metall brake pipes rigid? I contrast to the brake hoses? I could be missing something not being english native ? :).

Today I fitted my new Wiper Arm from depronman. The old one came off without too much of a fight. The new one looks great and works really well. No more metal on glass rattling. Many thanks to Paul for the fast delivery, and nicely re-furbed arm.

Today I prepped my new second hand bumper, which I bought from @A2Steve and as always is top quality!

Yep, it’s going to be all silver!
Have also bought a 1.6 today... that has a full silver bumper too!!
What has happened to me... I love these cars!’
Can’t wait to drive the 1.6, wonder how it’ll compare to my 1.4tdi?? ?

Non-A2, but I went to replace my inadequate halogen headlamp bulbs (dipped and mains) on the Touran with Osram Night Breaker Laser Next Generation replacements - I got the main beam ones out first and they were such a sod to get the new bulbs back in, with crap access meaning you couldn’t get purchas on them with your fingers in order to turn them so as to lock them into place!

At one point I almost gave up and called the RAC - such rubbish design considering headlamp bulbs do blow occasionally. In the end I did it, but was as it took over 2 hours I’ve decided to leave the dipped beam bulbs for when the car goes in for its cam belt after lockdown ends.

Hope the A2’s bulbs are easier to change?!

On the bright side (arf arf), the new main beam bulbs are significantly better than the OE ones so it was a win overall. If Merlin’s headlamps turn out to be similarly poor then I’ll do the same upgrade. I wonder how long they’ll last.

Most cars today it is either easier or quicker to remove the headlight when you want to change a bulb. There are a few out there that believe it or not you have to remove the front bumper to access the headlights. Dealers now think that the OEM bulbs they fit will last 5 years or more.
Rule of thumb never replace a single bulb always replace the matching one at the same time.
So dealer price for 2 headlight bulbs, headlights removal and refit and bumper removal and refit doubt you will see any change from £200.
