Haven’t been on the forum for a while. Busy working and other stuff. But a few thousand miles ago, me and my buddy Menno changed the TB and accessory belt in combination with a camshaft change. Tomorrow I will finally fit a PTW gearbox, as my attempts to revive an MYP gearbox failed. So today I thought I’d give her some TLC in an attempt to please and not fault tomorrow too much 😉. And I hate fettling on a dirty car 🚙 . Still going strong after 265.000 miles 👍. Wish me luck 🍀

You’ll like the PTW compared with the MYP I think, having driven both - The longer lower gears are easier to live with in urban areas I find.

Huge thank you to the fabulous team at Wheelbase in Hersham for another superb annual service, which this year included a new air filter, spark plugs and the fitting of a full set of NOS mud flaps. They also re-synced the MOT for the first time since the COVID break. As hoped the car passed with flying colours and without a hint of any emissions issues. Which confirms my suspicions that the previous combination of an over enthusiastic tester during a -4 degree deep-freeze was not truly representative. Happy Summer days!

Well, I think the TLC on Friday had a positive effect on the gearbox change from GRJ to PTW. Alle went Well despite the temperature at the shop. I changed the crankshaft seal as well, to cure the leakage that I had. Very happy with the result 👍

I changed the crank seal on mine when I did this conversion for piece of mind while it was all apart - think the seal was a fiver from memory!

Today I've done my first fuel filter change :) Thanks for the great tutorial video to @mtl.

The new filter came with those white clips, but it didn't seem I needed them.
The previous filter supposed to be 4 years old, looks older to me tbh.
The heat shield is completely missing unfortunately.
After fitting it's sat a bit loose on one side, turned out I was too careful and didn't actually pushed it on properly, double checking has saved some headache again. It's looks all good, no sign of leakage.
