It'll still be a better car than a 1 owner, low mileage euro ****boxAsking if anyone admits to buying the worst A2 ever available on the market?
As I believe I did on Saturday.
Highlights - 22 previous owners, clocked and has been a Cat-C and a Cat-D....
Not sure as its a 1.6FSIIt'll still be a better car than a 1 owner, low mileage euro ****box
I bought it unseen and had it delivered on a lowloader. Dodgy seller who I found out after was a scrap metal collector.Wondering what on earth posessed you A cheap parts car, maybe some nice goodies? Can't mean to be taking that one on as a going concern, surely? How bad does it look?
Probably needed a new cat.I think my worst was an early TDI breaker I bought. When I took the bonnet off there was a rats nest from the undertray right up over the engine cover. I just put the bonnet back on and didn’t touch the engine,
Ideal candidate for a wrap I’d say.Actually I bought a red rattle can painted red 75, I still can bear to look at it. Starts and drives fine but grim to look at. Really grim
Looking at your later post, the engine is the least of it's shortfalls Mac.Not sure as its a 1.6FSI
No as bought from a trader I expected not the best put saw potential.Did you carry out a car check on this before you bought it?
In the cars defence, It doesn't take much to write off any car now especially an aluminium bodied 20 year old car. The owners, (22) is a bit much but i once bought a 4 year old car with 5 previous owners (3 from same family though). As long as the car is complete and is a runner and you are happy with the price you paid who really cares.
There are only a handful of A2s' out there that are going to be highly collectable in the future, and they are squirrelled away somewhere in a high security oxygen tent prison, only to be pushed out for special occasions.
Most of us who buy these fun, frugal and very well built funky cars actually drive them, and it looks like you have a nice colour to start with.
The pictures don't show much damage with nice even shut lines and no nasty bodywork dents.
Remember, when life gives you lemons make lemonade.
Engine upgrade, long term project or just a reliable runabout (FSI??) either way the car is a survivor, If you decide to keep it.
its a legal requirement to declare if a car has a cat x statusI knew as a trader they would have to disclose anything serious like clocking or Cat C/D. (looks like I was wrong)
