Thanks - will try that!Sorry, don't agree, if you jack it up with a trolley jack at the correct points you can safely slide the axle stands to a flat part of the rear beam.
At the front I put the stands under the wishbone Bush, its rock solid evey time.

First days of owning A2 i had to use factory jack to find why my 1.2 would not start (clutch sensor). Had very very slight downhill, jacked and removed left front wheel. While i was slightly manhandling my car it slipped forward, rear wheels locked by handbrake but they just slipped. Lucky for me i had placed big lump of square wood under nose so it softly landed on big bushings. Not used since, but keep it where it belongs just in case.
