Audi Driver International 2010

Hi folks.

Wont be making the ADI, as you have probably guessed as it half 10, as I have managed to pickup some filthy stomache bug and cant really venture far.

Started yesturday and was hoping it would clear but im sitting here typing this feeling very sick :( :(

Very Gutted indeed!!!

Just a big thank you to the organisers forthe catering you laid on. It was very much appreciated.

BTW half an hour after leaving en route to London the sun came. out and the temp was 22C!

Fantastic News on the Awards ..... Did Mr McNISH get to meet Mr Skipton this year ...

Really sorry i could not make it this year but i was doing Dads Duties ..

I Have been off work this week ,we have been driving up and down the country trying to find a car for Jess ....She has her 2nd Driving test on Tuesday ....

Tried to get her to buy an A2 she loves the car ,but it seems that its not cool for ones Daughter to have the same car as her Dad LOL !!!!

In the end she decided a Mini it had to be went to look at it Friday night and after a very helpful chat with are very own Grim Reaper managed to strike up a deal on a Mini One in Bristol .......

Saturday had to hop on a bus and a train to Bristol , ive never liked the Mini for all it stands for but after driving it was Mildly surprised it has that Solid feel to it like the A2
and ill have to eat my words i think .....

The car is now safely parked on the drive until Tuesday , that reminds me has anyone seen Jess as i have not seen her for hours LOL !!!!

Once again really sorry i could not make it hope everyone had a great time and look forward to seeing some pics ...:)

Hi John,
Hope your feeling better today.

Hi all just got home and un-packed.i would just like to thank all that turned up to ADI.we ended up with 19 cars on the stand-a different location to before but our cars looked very nice and got plenty of looks and questions.its a shame the sun didn't come out and play but at least it was dry.
i would also like to thank mike (skipton01)for doing all the organising and dealing with the payments.Dave(riverlad) did a great job suppling tea and coffee-very welcome.hope people enjoyed the bacon rolls along with the other hot food(thanks robin and Maddy for the bread)
it was only late last night i had realised i didn't take a single picture at ADI-i think i was just waiting for the sun-lol
it was nice to bring both our A2's to the show and nice that only one was running on three cylinders! there was a great mix of cars and colours-even a storm! thanks to Mr and Mrs pugliese.the day also had the added interest of seeing myta2's modded A2 in the flesh and see it in action on the track(video to follow)
only disappointment was that we didn't get a parade lap!! why? not really sure heard some reasons but they didn't seem to hold any water.

sorry i did'nt make it to the do... but it was my son's 5th Birthday on Sat, and my wife threatend me with violence/divorce if i was not thier at his party:eek: but it was nice to briefly meet some of you in the car park - and thanks to Mike (skipton01) for sorting out my keys.

i will try and come along to the next social:)

John

Many thanks to all those who helped to make yesterday a fantastic event for A2OC:-

to the catering crew (even though I didn't have time to partake of your fayre)
to Mervyn for bringing the Stuart Diamond flag
to Malcolm for bringing the most powerful and unique A2 in the UK
to Ben for running the subscription lottery on my behalf
to David for the mug
to Lee and Christian for not lynching me for forgetting their parts (sorry chaps!)
to all the evening crew for your excellent company and quiz knowledge
to all who voted to bring another award to the club (and to all who DIDN'T vote for me, thus sparing my blushes!)
and to Audi for making the car that brings us all together!

Roll on ADI 2011

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks to everyone for an interesting day, always good to catch up. Special thanks to Sumo & Riverlad for your help with the pedals & coffee and to Maddy et al for the unexpected barbecue. Cheers!

Is anyone else a little ill after there weekend at hilton? Me and chrissie seem to have both have the symptoms of food poisoning, while mine is not so bad as hers.

I did notice on saturday I felt a little strange, I know that there breakfast was not hot enough to stop food bacteria. However im not sure if you can become ill from this, and the only thing me and chrissie had different is the chicken on friday night, which I did think could have done with a little more cooking. I haven't eaten elsewhere over the weekend.

I already have a number of complaints to write to there GM, they had double charged me for the upgrade, the reception didn't believe or know that there was a half-price offers on the internet - I had to show her on my iphone my order! Their bathrooms are not as clean as they should be, service does not exist, staff have no manners. I'm not writing anything about the function btw.

Hi Richard sorry to hear that you both are un well.don't forget you both went out for food on Friday afternoon after booking in! So could this be the reason? Maybe stick to mac d's or burger king's lol as the curry at the camping didn't agree either did it.
Hope you both feel better soon and good luck to chrissie for Tuesday cheers mike
