Evening all,

Those of you that can recall as far back as post #1 and my posts on pages 403 & 403 on the 'Today I..." thread will understand that I was quite excited about securing the eBay item some 3.5 weeks ago. You will also remember that I was also quickly disappointed about being let down by the seller and therefore investigated to see what was possible to get a company to make this for me/us.

As I was hoping to get a TT Style Footrest fitted into Project OEM soonest, I think that I need to come clean about a major truth bend with this order... The order submission date!

I actually, out of my own pocket submitted the order rather early and just hoped that all you interested members indeed paid for what you had put your name to. I know you have and I truly thank you making this a simple process.

With the order going in a lot sooner than I let on I have the absolute pleasure in informing you that I have 113 A2 Bespoke Footrests on the floor next to me as I type this post.

What can I say about them, well they are with out question, outstanding. I have taken pictures which I will add but they just don't do our footrests any justice. The look, feel, weight, brushed finish and exact cutting detail is just above and beyond what I was expecting but truly hoped for. The A2 text looks awesome in Audi Extended Font with the rearward facing addition to the 'A', just like the back of your trusty stead. So much better than what I had lost out to early last month.

Cutting Technologies really have made something beautiful that we can all have in our Aluminium Friends. I am so happy with the finished item in my hand right now, simply stunning, in my opinion is an understatement.

I will start to package these up tomorrow and get them sent either Sunday or Monday on the stated 2-3 day service that you have paid for, I promise you will not be disappointed at all. You will have these fitted before next weekend.

Here are a few pictures as promised, of the item that I am so proud of, don't know why as all I done was make a phone call and asked Paul @depronman to work on a CAD file.

Once you receive your footrest can you please supply a picture of it in your A2 (on this thread) as this will surely assist with generating interest for a second order, as I don't see the remaining 13/14 unspoken for items hanging around for long.

Kind regards,

Tom
Awesome ?

Darpods sentiments echoed Tom.

They look fantastic, I can't remember where the really good pedals came from, was it some outfit in Germany?

Best wishes

Evening Simon,

As kind of a purist I do prefer the factory TT Pedals. Mine are a used set from a well known auction site.

Cheap sets do turn up on said auction site quite often so pleased do be patient.

There are aftermarket alternatives available for not a lot of money. I do remember someone posting (some time ago) about a set they purchased from AliExpress which took a few weeks to arrive but were happy with their purchase.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hello Tom,

so , what is the way of fitting them on the existing footrest?

Many thanks,

Andrei

Morning Andrei,

If you read through the thread you will see that there is an option to purchase 3M VHB tape that will hold it in place. This tape can be included with the footrest.

Some members have chosen not to have the tape as they are considering drilling a hole in each corner and simply screwing it down into the original footrest using the fixings of their choice, similar to the item in the very first picture of this thread, back in post #1 on page 1.

If you want one please do speak up soon as these maybe all spoken for in the coming week.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning all,

Once you have all added a picture of your new footrest fitted to this thread, (please do feel free to also add said picture to the 'Today I....' thread stating that you received your bespoke A2 footrest) I feel that the remaining 13/14 will be spoken for quickly.

A potential second order can easily be generated once interest meets the minimum total of 93 units, that might well be controlled by Ian @Proghound as he should be taking over after Monday evening as Ian @Bargepower will be collecting the remaining stock to deliver them to 'The Club'.

Thank you all again for your support and advice along the way.

Kind regards,

Tom

Morning again everyone,

Here is a little added surprise for you all to ponder over, but time is tight to decide as your parcels are being wrapped up this weekend.

Paul @depronman has been working on a solution in the background to add the rubber/plastic TT Style infill pieces for the slots. These look to be amazing and will certainly be a much better fit than me cutting up a well used road bike tyre.

As Paul created the CAD file for Cut-Tec to use for the cutting process, he therefore knows every intricate dimension of the TT style slots in the design. He has started playing with his 3D printer again and come up with this as an option for us all to fir into our new footrest(s):

These do look good and if we apply enough pressure Im sure he could create infills for the 'A2' cut out.

The price Paul requests for this will be £4.00 (some 15-20 minutes of printing and materials) along with £1.00 delivery to you. To save additional postage, Paul could also mass produce from your interest and send them to me in a box for £4.10, The £4.10 can be divided by the amount he sends me (from your interest) and added to the total you owe which will of course be way cheaper than the £1.00 individual delivery. I could then add them to your package. This really is a great addition and the icing on the wonderful cake but it would mean delay (around a week or 2 maximum) in receiving your footrest(s).

These infills will protrude 1.5mm above the finish of the footrest and will adhere to the 3M tape on the bottom of the footrest. If you add a thin line of superglue around the inside of each of the of the slot cut outs then they will be there forever. It will also save water and dirt building up around the slots.

Whats your thoughts everyone.

If there is not much interest to warrant me waiting to add this as part of your package, the TT slot infils will of course be available direct from Paul in the usual PM manner.

Kind regards,

Tom

Sounds great to me. Count me in

Hi Tom, please can I have a set of Paul’s ingenious looking rubber inserts with my footrest. Very happy to wait a few weeks more as I think it will set the design off perfectly. Thank you so much to you and @depronman for your huge efforts on this project and stunning addition to our little cars! Greatly appreciated!

Morning Erling,

I’ll wait until this evening to see how much interest is shown then possibly start yet another list. Price and payment is nothing to do with me and it will be direct to Paul. I’ll reiterate this when the time comes but please don’t send me the payment. Hopefully Paul will send out individual PMs to you like I did.

My only part in this is to save you postage by adding the infills to your footrest parcel. Hope that all makes sense.

Paul @depronman please do jump in if I have have anything wrong.

Kind regards,

Tom

That is all fine with me
The only thing that I ask is the the payment is made as friends and family and that the member leaves in the PayPal note ‘foot rest inserts’, his ‘user name’ a ‘real name’ and where the infill pieces are to be delivered to. Ie their address or to Tom
The cost will be £4.00 if delivered to Tom or £5 if delivered to the member direct
I request this because managing my PayPal account can be a mare at the best of times and if a lot of orders flood in it will swamp me unless all the details are in PayPal

All the best. Paul
