I thought I'd move the list to the very start of the thread for easier viewing.

Here's the list below which will be updated periodically to show you the I have captured your interest. I'll revise the list over the next few days to ensure its fit for purpose but this should suffice for now:

As you've come to understand from pervious dealings, this Group Order is of course yet another zero profit venture. I'll be paying exactly the same for my mats that you are for yours. My time working in the background for you is free of charge, a way of giving back to the community I both enjoy and serve.

I have been in touch with Dan at Simply Car Mats and he reports that they can indeed produced a LHD version for you. It would require you to send him a paper template of your existing mats and they would produce them from your template.

Erling @Erlingtheyounger this might also be of interest to you Sir.

I’ve yet to discuss if these will be a separate order or part of this group order. Let’s get Dan a template of LHD front mats first and take it from there. Use the contact details available on:

Hello all,

I’ve just realised that the pricing of the embroidery template set up fee is slightly out now due to a set of mats not going to sport the Clubs logo.

The knock-on effect is that the missing £2.00 will be shared over the 29 other sets of mats with the logo swatches. This is just a £0.07 increase per set which I’ll add to the list later on. It’s only small but felt I should mention it as I do try to get the costings to the nearest penny and be totally transparent.

Anyone wanting to join in on this venture? Only 3 sets needing to have their name on now before we move to payments and submitting the order.

Quite excited to see my footwell tidied up with a set of these, once the weather improves of course. I’ll leave the rubber mats in place until then.

Tom, for the LHD mats, would it be worthwhile @Erlingtheyounger trial fitting a RHD front pair upside down and swapped over? If this works it would mean Dan already has profiles which could be used?

That would be OK for the passenger mat, but the driver's mat is different in LHD to the reverse RHD profile. In LHD, the clutch rest is on the same side as the wheelarch hump: I guess reverse RHD might fit but leave a big gap where the clutch rest is not there on the right.

Thinking about it, we could build the correct template profile by placing an RHD driver's mat over a passenger one, and following the outline of the passenger one until it was time for the corner to meet the line of the top of the driver's one.

I doubt that would work, not least since the clutch pedal and footrest are still on the left.

Apologies alll for not getting back to you regarding lhd mats and a template for them, picked up our new baby (1.4Tdi 55) last Thursday and on drive from Porto to home (around 160km) had major powerloss, so it was trailered back to dealer where it still is, turbo is away being checked / re-built, new sensors and all the vaccuum hoses replaced so far as well, hoping to get it back tomorrow or Saturday depending on turbo. So mats not been high on priority list for the moment. Will keep you posted.
Does anyone know if there a good reliable (A2 specialst) mechanic in central Portugal shiuld we need anmore work in the fututre that is closer to home, we live about 35km south of Coimbra.

Morning all,

Dan at Simply Car Mats got in touch yesterday. He apologised for not getting a sample of the Club logo swatch to me as promised.

He is still working with the embroidery team and I should have an update on proceedings soon enough.

We are still 3 sets away from hitting our target. I’m away again next week so wouldn’t have the time to send out the payment type PMs so guess this will be the following week. Therefore no payment is required until week commencing Monday 28th February.

I’ll probably start sending out the aforementioned PMs that Monday evening to have funds in my PayPal account by the weekend once everyone has been paid.

The order will only be submitted once all
payments have been sent to me. Your mats should be in your footwell within 2 weeks of the final payment being received.

Who is going to take 1 of the 3 remaining sets?

Dan’s replied confirming what he needs and that he’s happy to include LHD ones as part of the order and how I get the templates to him. On that basis, please add me two sets of LHD’s, one in light grey and one in black. Light grey ones with Red edging please, the others are black on black. Both with heal pads.

I’ve been away all week so had no access to the list as the laptop remained at home. Back now though so will update your requirements in the morning. This takes us very close to the 30 sets we first set out to achieve. Looks like another venture is about to make it to fruition.
