Bigger engine into an AUA A2

Google translate may well be your best friend over the next week :)

When we looked at the engine with my mechanic friends it does look fairly straight forward, getting it in won’t be an issue. It the wiring, immo clocks, air-con, ecu position etc. That’s what’s worrying me

The lupo gti 1.6 16v engine, runs well as long as you only put super plus in. If it has been run on normal unleaded it can/will cause problems and they are knocking on a bit now. Just a thought you will get similar power from a 1.2 tsi unit. Very impressed with the power output from a seat ibiza 2013 reg. And you should have more variety the engine was/is used in seat, vw and audi cars.

Manu speaks and writes English perfectly well, there's no issues there.

1.2 TSI was investigated a long time ago and the height was given to be the problem; not sure if the 1.0 would fit, that's a really nice motor in the Octavia I also run. 115PS / 220Nm is also perfectly acceptable :)

I would imagine that the biggest job would be engine control via canbus. Maybe a piggy back ecu would be necessary?

Just wondering if anyone has got a mk3 golf GTI?

If so, I could really do with knowing the dimensions of the engine and gearbox.

You can probably guess where my trail of thought is going.
The only problem with a mk3 16v abf code is that it’s longer than any other 16v engine, I know this having had a few 16v conversions done on mk1 golfs, the manifold is a pain, if u wanted to go down the 16v route you’d better off with a corrado 16v 9A code as this is also 2.0 rather than the mk2 golf 16v engine which is 1.8, the power on the 9A is 139 which is down on the ABF at 150 but if u put a KR head on it you’d get slightly more than 150

If u want ultimate and rare, buy a corrado 9A engine, get a scirocco inlet manifold and fit a nice g lader to it and you’ve got yourself a 2.0 16vg60 with power circa 270bhp ?

Have you done a mock up yet? How does it look size wise and mounts?

I'm assuming you will be using the complete loom and ecu from the donar car?
Yes, I was thinking.., How is shoehorning a different cars engine into the A2 going to work with the A2's electronics and sensors, ecu's etc..? o_O
I am also thinking of fitting replacement engine in my spare A2, but now I'm thinking GTI Turbo, mmm.. Thx for that..

Stop messing around everyone and put a 4wd Quattro engine and 4wd running gear into one ??...

One of my favourite series on YouTube, their fabrication is simply outstanding! Funny chaps too!

So did any one made a successful swap on Audi A2 ? I have seen one 1.9 TDI instead 1.4 TDI, but nothing yet about TSI. The latest 1.0 looks very efficient indeed.
