Check your front suspension arms people

Nice one David. I'll buy these. Sorry to be dense but I'm assuming they are the same for each side?

Edit. When you plug the car type in it tells you it doesn't fit A2. Odd ?

Yup very odd considering the ad says it's for the a2!

Oh dear was I a bit quick ?
Hopefully not, just checked the QH Arms cross reference with TRW JTC1125 and 6 as opposed to the JTC1140 and 41 that I've already fitted. My confusion is that the 25/26 are listed on webcat.zf.com as fitting ATL which audi.7zap.com suggests uses the same arms as the others.
I'm now convinced that I have no idea what's going on. ?
I'm going to let the order progress though please accept my apologies, they might not be correct. I'll update as soon as I have conclusive evidence.

Having the atl does provide me with increased confidence here :)

Good bargain and looks ok to me but I really don't know so maybe someone with knowledge of this could contribute and put us all out of our collective misery ?

Just had my pair delivered - look like Arms. What next? :D
Mine came today, quick comparison looks like they're correct. Next job is to fit them. ?

Will do though they're not high on the list (preventative maintenance on 3 A2s is time consuming - yes, it's self inflicted). ?
Happy to lend a hand David. Doesn't look too bad a job unless bolts seized on. I'm assuming the steering geometry wont be affected by this replacement or does the tracking need checked /adjusted following replacement?

I would think the same
Am I correct in thinking these are aftermarket arms as they look like pressed steel. The earlier cars had long lasting cast items so don't suffer the same issue I believe. Not sure if Audi went to pressed arms later on though.

Dave
as my car with 230k on the clock almost still look like hardly used. These look very rusty. ?

Excellent, can you get here by 9am? ?
The last one I did took hours (3+), I didn't feel the need to get geometry or tracking checked though I may following front strut as I read the top mount has some room for adjustment.

One of mine arrived yesterday. No sign of the other yet. Bought same time as Scott so Hermes must pack them on sloth drawn carts 'doon the watter'. Looks right though. ??

Just had a failure of Nearside Front wishbone due to internal corrosion. It fractured around around the rearmost inner bush mount, allowing the wheel to move back in the arch. All fixed now with new wishbones (albeit pressed steel replacements) and ball joints.

No, 2 pairs for 2 cars. Sorry, yes 4 arms(both storms still on pressed steel). Under £30 per arm vs £90 per arm for the TRWs on my car. They're gonna be cast.
Definitely cast, probably sand cast. Aluminium is rarely forged, as its easier to cast. Pressure die casting is when things get really expensive.

Thanks david that's me ordered a pair up before the well goes dry. I completely plastered e dusting ones in bit hamber ub at the weekend but will have these ready to go in when I get suitably nervous. Might even enquire on powder coating...
Why not go the whole hog and polish to a chrome like finish?

I'm under the impression they were forged as cast don't have the strength required, the QH arms were so cheap I suggested they'd be cast arms, definitely not ally, too heavy.
