Well today Boris went to his new garage :)

The best thing about it is he’s only over the road from me ?

This is sort of A2 related but my grandfather has brought a Audi Q2 :)

I tried getting him in a A2 but he was having none of it

Welcome to the A2’s big cousin :)

Today I shampooed the drivers seat and OMG the dirt that come out of it was unbelievable

I’ll upload the before and after tomorrow as the seat is still damp

I’m planning at the weekend to take all of the seats out so I can clean them but I was wondering what size Torx bit do I need to take the seats out ? :)

Mine had H6! hex bit x 4 each seat. Make sure you remove the seat runner plastic covers as well I damaged mine I wasn't careful enough.

And watch out for the air bag wiring. Always suggest disconnecting the battery for 10-20 minutes first before working on any air bag component.

M8 spline bit needed. Halfords have a small spline bit set with a 3/8" drive bit holder for about £10.

You'll also need a flathead screwdriver to lever down the pin under the trim piece at the back of the offside rail end-trim. Possibly a pair of longnose pliers to release the clip-in cable-tie holding the airbag cable to the underside of the seat, if it's not been pulled off already.

Hi Louis,

It might seem daft, but it may be better when unbolted to tilt the front seats back and take them out through the boot, (after previously removing the back seats!!:))

^^^ Absolutely do this, and put them back in via the boot afterwards as well. This should save you from scratching up your B- and C-pillar trims with the ends of the seat rails.

Also a good idea before you start to move them to tilt the backs all the way forward on the recliner knobs, and adjust their forward/backward position so the rails aren't poking out beyond the mounting where the seat joins on to them at the rear. These steps should stop the ends of the rails from scratching up your boot floor carpet as you manoeuvre them on their backs. Again, put them in the same position before lifting them back in through the boot afterwards.

Is this the correct m8 spline bit to take the seats out ? :)

Thanks :)
That should be fine.

Spline bolts in various sizes are used in other places on the car as well, which is why I mentioned a set of bits. I can't find the one I bought on Halfords website any more though, I think they have stopped doing it. But in that set, the M8 is the one I've used the most by far.

EDIT: Here is is on eBay.

And clip the rear seat belt buckles into the slots at the base of the c pillar trim. That is what they are there for. Prevents the belts and buckles being trapped by the rear doors or you or whatever you have in the boot getting tangled in the belts.

Today I took all the seats out of Boris and gave them a good shampoo :)

When you take all the seats out the car it looks like @A2Steve project ?

They look way better in person than on photos :)

Tut Tut Tut.? At least try them Audi spent a lot of time engineering them and it is surprising how many owners do not know they are there or what they are for.

Well today I gave Boris a clean (sorry there’s no photos)

Then I replaced the worn out light switch for a better one :)

Right everyone this is what my plans are with Boris in the next 12 months

I’ve planned to MOD Boris out slightly but I don’t want him to have a boy racer look ?

Plans are get the thermostat sorted free of charge by Audi :)

Get the exhaust of A2 Steve :)

Then he should be sorted no cutting out now and again (let’s hope)

I thought instead of selling him for a dolphin grey and doing a stealth look I thought why not try and do the stealth look On Boris as he will look just as nice if not better :)

Plans are change the curbed alloys for BBS SR 18s

54443

Then put DRL’S on him

Maybe de badge him ?

And maybe lower him slightly

I want Boris to look like this :)?

54444

Thanks :)
