Good amount of progress for 6 months work Tom.

It’s got me itching to start my next project now that pine green has gone.

It’s looking to be a blue 5 seater colour.storm (already purchased) the way I think a storm should look 😊

Morning Steve,

We all love to read up your project progress along with seeing what ideas you’ve considered and implemented.

Already looking forward to Project BCS Dune?

Good luck with the direction you take this next one, I’ll be following g it for sure. The Pine Green A2 was stunning by the way.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hows the votex coming along?
Hello Edd,

The Votex kit is yet to be fitted due to a rather busy couple of weeks. We’ve just returned home after being away though so hopefully find time to fit it this weekend.

Kind regards,

Tom

A small update which is just 1 picture (below) to show the next installation on the summit of retrofits ahead of me when time permits:

I’m sure some of you will know what this might well be.

Is that Lowestoft? not far form me here in Norwich, and a personalised ColorMFD display screen 😍

Andy
Evening Andy,

Very close Sir. It’s the bus stop on Admiralty Road, Great Yarmouth so only out by a few miles.

Yes the custom car image from Eduard Diaz for the stunning 3DColorMFA screens software. The image is just a sample as I’ve since send pictures of the Votex kit to see if he can add it to the car as it’s how it will look soon enough. If not then nothing is lost as the sample image is brilliant.

I really like the ColorMFA in Project OEM but even more excited to have one of these screens in Project EUD.

I must thank you for the simply amazing instructions from your own installation:

I know there are a few members with this screen now which is not limited to the A2. Thank you so much, I’m sure I’ll be in touch Sir.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hello all,

I’m absolutely conscious that I owe a rather large update but time hasn’t always been on my side recently. I’ve just spent today’s online time to assist Simon @nin with an explanation of how to reshape the RNS-E for the Audi A2 double DIN dashboard.

There’s a few upgrades that have already been received onto this beautiful A2, a mixture of economy and looks. I’ll get to add it pictures along with a write up soonest, probably during the week now.

For now though I know some of you are waiting to see what it might look like with a Votex kit so, here’s a teaser:

Remember this image from above

It’s since had a Votex spoiler added but incorrectly upgraded to feature an OSS

It’s now had the correct roof reapplied along with the complete Votex kit

This is clearly going to look stunning, both the vehicle and the 3DColorMFD. Still on the hunt for a Votex spoiler but it’s getting close to me making my own (Iain @ICowie style) as it seems impossible to get hold of now unless you’ve recently won the lottery.

Kind regards,

Tom

Evening all,

Just going through my pictures ahead of adding further updates to this thread and noticed that o e not shared a couple of tweaks that were completed recently.

First up is the Cruise Control interaction. When I purchased this absolutely beautiful A2 it had the earlier style Cruise Control stalk which looked quite new and I thought it to be an aftermarket solution. I therefore removed it to see:

IMG_7388.jpeg

Yes it was indeed an aftermarket item. It works perfectly but do prefer the later style Cruise Control stalk with the rocker switch just like the DIS stalk rocker switch.

Here is it fitted:

Feels much more intuitive in its use over the earlier style pull-switch/push button stalk. A very satisfying 10 minute task.

Kind regards,

Tom

Another little update,

I’ve had the Furniture Clinic out to play again. This time, the same as the last was to recolour Red Leatherette door card armrest. I have the last refurbished set away as I’m far too generous, I think they were actually swapped for a blue leather set which I’ll paint soon enough for a pending project, a thread for another time.

Some of you might remember my recent purchase from our very own Market Forum, where I secured these(thank you Steve @A2Steve):

IMG_7606.jpeg

Soon as Colin @V666col had delivered them I get the Dremel out to remove the armrests:

IMG_7528.jpeg

After a good cleaning with warm soapy then Elbow Grease I was surprised how much cleaner they come up. Next up was to get the products out:

IMG_7605.jpeg

And here they are looking nice and fresh ready to jump into a Jaipur Red A2 with an stunningly contrasting Soul interior:

IMG_7603.jpeg

Only today see me with the time to do such a task, been extremely busy here recently but over the moon with the outcome. The colour will darken slightly as it fully cures over the next 24 hours before fitting.

Another satisfying task complete.

Kind regards,

Tom

Nice job as always sir - were you tempted at all to go with Orange on the armrests at all to match the exterior?

Cheers,

Stuart

Evening Stuart,

Hope all is good with you and yours. Yes I know what you mean, I recall the Nissan Juke at launch which had some of the exterior colour scheme displayed within its cabin. Whilst it looked good it’s not the look I’m trying to end up with in this particular A2.

Whilst I know an A2 of this age wouldn’t have had a complete Soul Black interior from the production line, I guess I’m going against factory standard style but I feel it still works and visually hasn’t been revised with too much.

To me (maybe biased) Soul Black was actually what this exterior colour option was missing as a selectable all thought years ago.

Kind regards,

Tom

Afternoon all,

I have so much to update you all in regards this splendid commuter but haven’t had the time to sit down to put the posts together. Today though I have a quick update for you.

Remember these rather rare Black Leather Heated SE Seats with Electric Lumbar Support that we’re fitted a few months ago:

Whilst I really like them I truly missed having Sport Seats that I was used to in my first commuter and then in Project OEM, therefore I have been on the hunt for a suitably nice seat if heated sport seats, ideally in black.

Well luck obviously has hit me hard; looks at these:

They feel nice and tight on the fabric and of course look absolutely stunning and are indeed heated. I need to address the usual bobbling of the alcantara but I’ll get to that soon enough as there are plenty of information available online which I have since studied.

Such an amazing acquisition to satisfy my want of Black Leather Heated Sport Seats. Very big smiles here at 2work Towers.

When I get a bit more online time I’ll come back with some other updates, mainly the JDD Gearbox and the beautifully colour coded Votex Kit…

Kind regards,

Tom

Wow - heated alcantara sports seats - not seen more than one other set of those that I can recall on here Tom - seems to be that most folk who spec’d alcantara thought it’d be warm enough!

Love the ones of these I have in my 1.2. Most envious of your heated ones though!!! 😍

Evening David,

I can confirm your thoughts Sir. On the first drive with them, after being in a full leather seat before that they warm up quickly without the heating on. I actually thought I have the heating switched on.

Having them heated though will of course be a luxury come the colder months.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hello Erling,

Hope all is well, it’s been a while. Might need a drivers sport seat foam base to have them to perfection.

I was most enviously of the seller having them and simpmy had to go for it regardless of price. They are truly an amazing set of seats which I’ll benefit from later in the year.

Hopefully catch up soon Sir.

Kind regards,

Tom

Evening Edd,

Yes this particular A2 just keeps getting better and better. I’ll let you know when it’s available for purchase Sir, haha.

Kind regards,

Tom
Hi Tom

You beat me to these by a whisker, look fab. As a consolation I have just grabbed your old ones :)
