Project Pine Green 1.6

I won’t really be doing any more mods to the outside. I want to keep it looking clean and simple. I’ll be painting the lower plastics in satin black over the next few weeks to freshen the plastics up though.

I’ll probably be doing lots of mods to the interior though to make it a bit more luxurious.

Looking at this photo I’ve found of the alloy, they appear to use SE 6 spoke centre caps and look a lot better than the ones fitted at present.

I may invest in a new set from tradition once I’ve confirmed they fit.
Almost certain that the centre caps are a different size to the A2 SE centre caps Steve, although I agree they do look very similar.

I'm not much of a researcher but I'm sure someone who is will confirm for you soon 👍

I think my best bet is to just wait until I have one in stock and try it :)

Another day spent on trying to get phase one of the project done.

All lower plastics painted in gloss black.
All body panels have now been swapped bar the tailgate.
Later style scuttle panel fitted with heated jets

Would be ready for the road, but as I drove it out of the garage I could hear a grinding noise which I knew to be driveshaft hitting the ARB.

So that’s where it’s going to be sat until I can get some shorter drop links in the next week or so.

I’m hoping for subtle with this one 😊
I think a subtle is a fair description to anyone not ‘in the know’ Steve. But I will say the lowered stance, beautiful wheels which fill the arches perfectly and clean lines in that colour make it and absolute stunner for me. Bet it looks even better in the flesh

Which heated washer jets did you use? I have the later scuttle but am using heated jets from an A3 8V and they don't fit so well as they are a smaller size. The reason I fitted these though is that they have 3 jets on each side rather than the factory A2 fan ones that sprays fluid all over the wiper arm and nowhere else.

I fitted the A2 ones, not wired in yet though.

Hi Steve, I’ve still got that single rear arch to change over that you sent me last year! Is it a difficult job? Planning on doing it this Christmas.
I’ve done a how-to in the how to section of the forum with photos 👍

Evening,

Here’s the How To that Steve put together for the good and benefit of us all. Very well documented.

Kind regards,

Tom

Found some shorter drop links and so Pine Green is now officially on the road and my daily 😊

That’s phase 1 sorted, it’s had:

- BCB/AUB/AVY Frankenstein engine
- new clutch
- new timing kit
- ramair induction kit
- backbox delete
- Audi A8 D2 16 hole alloys with adapters
- interior colour change to black with black sports seats
- Stance+ coilovers
- all body panels bar the drivers door and front wings swapped for better ones

Phase 2 is going to include
- Porsche Boxster leather seats
- a stainless exhaust (hopefully a bit quieter 😊)
- Double DIN dash swap
