Mines called Sam but that's where similarities end, I'm afraid it would have been a different out come for mePopped out the garage today to do a 10 minute job. I’d ordered a set of adjustable droplinks so that I could match the drop link length to the lowered coilovers.
Unfortunately they had supplied M10 thread rather than the M8 the A2 needed. Only one solution (other than waiting another week for the right ones), drill out the hole on the shock and the anti-roll bar to 10mm. While I was dirty I crossed another couple of jobs off the list with a new Bosch abs sensor, changed the washerjet pump and figured out where my leak was coming from in the process.
Now my “see you in 10 minutes” to Sam was almost 2 hours later on Boxing Day and anyone could quite easily expect divorce papers on their return, I was greeted with a Christmas pie she had been baking, 22 years on and she reminds me daily why I love her
Was all going too smooth for a2 worldAfter lavishing a good few hours over the last few days on her, the ungrateful ******* decided that now is the time for the pipe on the thermostat housing to snap.
Haven’t got one here, so have had to order a new one from Germany. It means Pine Green is off the road until 9th January.
Luckily I’ve got a black TDi here that I was tidying up to sell on, so seeing as I need a car for work in the next few days it looks like I’d better insure it and put it into action.

No, just a German company via ebay. It shouldn't take me long to change it over, but its the delay in waiting. What a pain, did you order from AUTODOC Steve?
I’ve had a nightmare with delivery from Evri in that they can’t find the office or the local Tesco all of a sudden
Anyway, on the plus side if it stops raining you’ll be able to polish it up
Sent from thin air
When I fitted the pipe during the engine build I put extra sealant at the waterpump end. I’ll have to move the driveshaft out of the way to get a good grip on it.Hi, you don’t need to take the drive shaft out. I did that exact job on mine and you do connect the pipe to the housing first but can then slide it down into position and can guide it it without too much trouble. You do need to get right under the car legs poking out the front to see it, but it do able. I actually had to do mine twice as the first pipe I was supplied had a crappy o ring with flashing and leaked!
That looks fabulousView attachment 102985
New thermostat housing/thermostat/coolant temp sensor and death pipe and she’s back on the road. Took longer than I’d hoped because I was waiting on parts, seemed daft to use the old death pipe when they are only £10 delivered. Washed and ready to go back on the road again
Sweet, I’m looking forward to seeing her!View attachment 102985

Awaiting a good aero arm coming in.That rear wheel in the arch is very naughty indeed, great looking car. just one thing I have to pull you up on as its a fetishism of mine, and that's the wiper resting position.
