Today I.....

Any ideas of what it was ?? It wasn’t that long ago both sally and I said we had never seen one broke down ? sorry it was you ..the picture of your dog looks so like a wolfhound ...we had them for over 40 years alas lost our last one 2 years ago ? we now have a very unruly 15 week old lab and she’s a little b****r ?..everyone said they are so quiet yeh right ? ..

AA man suggests it may be the fuel pump. Awaiting the diagnosis from the garage. Bought this third A2 a few months back, has been nothing but trouble. Maybe buying from an enthusiast was the wrong choice :)

Yes that’s our wolfhound, she is not as big as some but fits perfectly in our other A2 with the seats out :)
Our other extreme is a Chorkie ?

Good luck with the pup. They calm down........ eventually ?

Passed MOT from second time. First time failed because of the hole in rear headlamp and bad lower ball joint.
Headlight fxed with some plastic from old headlight and epoxy glue.
Lower ball joind recovered by local garage (cast arm).

Received the outer casing for my key that has seen better days.
Thought it would be an easy open/remove internals/refit.....
Bit of a faff but key now looks nice and new.?

What casing did you go for?
Like for like or the more modern one?

I went for the same case, but still had to cut the old one to bits to get what look like tiny rivets out holding the circuit board in. Thankfully I didn't break the board!!

The brass pins do pull out though it's not easy, I used small sharp wire cutters and carefully levered the pins out. I don't think I'd do it again though as the more modern 220K keys are relatively cheap.

Are those the keys with the chrome bar on the bottom?

Did you move inside from old key or just buy complete david? I've seen a few Chinese based merchants selling both and it does make me want to give it a go...
I bought a used 220K (£30ish), new Id48 transponder (£3) and new short key blade (£10 cut to photo of existing). Programming done with registered Vcds-lite, instructions by @Birchall.
Edit: I didn't use any of the old key fob. If the old transponder can be removed it'll make the job easier though they're delicate and not known to leave their long term home without a fight. I've seen various Chinese options and while I believe there's a place for cheap stuff I wanted it to work. Both storms now have 220K keys.

So today ... or rather yesterday ..

Received a detailed update from the chaps at Wom ...

Basil , is well on the way to being fixed and improved following his near death experience...

So , slam panel , rad and a/c condenser fitted up , reclaimed bonnet back on, just waiting on a head light , and the front bumper etc Tp complete the front end repairs

Now the fun stuff

While the cars was in a million bits again, it would be rude not to sort out the suspension, it’s done 185k miles and 16 years .
So the car has been fitted with key upgrades , new brakes using 312mm disc and pads , braided hoses etc , B4 shocks , H and R anti -roll bars , cast wish bones , and general refresh of minor items which are normal well hidden

As always WOM autos are doing amazing work, and happy to listen to my requests for random bits of work at the drop of a hat ...

Photos say more than words , so here’s a couple ...

Coming together nicely, which springs and droplinks are you using?

Has Basil, got a project thread? It would be a shame for so much work to get lost in 'today I'.

Nice work on the box section subframe and mounts for the wishbones. Future proofing there.
