So the 10tonne hydraulic hub puller was unable to budge the seized in driveshaft so this afternoon I have enjoyed removing the hub from the bottom of the strut (that was kinda seized too) and taking the hub with old driveshaft to the garage. After some abuse on their big hydraulic press the shaft came away.
In the process of doing this the ABS sensor was damaged (snapped off flush with the top face of the hub body). I have new sensors on the way.
With the outer CV removed from the hub I should be able to punch out/drill the remains of the ABS sensor right?
I suspect this rough treatment will have strained the wheel bearings. This isn't a job for now, I will address this when I do my suspension overhaul later this year. This current work is about getting the car safe, MOT'd and getting me to work!
