Bonnet Across Britain - the Journey

A bump to this post by Teresa...

Hi everyone,

So, I'm trying to think of how to pass the Bonnet on to its next owner. I'm off to see Jigsaw tonight so will get a signature from him. I am also trying to get a bit of Norfolk publicity.

But in terms of passing it on, I do have the weekend before Christmas completely free and was thinking of a mini 'I'm dreaming of an A2 Christmas' meet somewhere, where I would bring homemade sausage rolls, plus gluten free goats cheese and sundried tomato rolls, plus some mince pies and strawberry santas (if you haven't made these before, they are so cute for Christmas and dead easy to do). There would be a small donation for a bite to eat with the proceeds going towards the charity.

I'm more than happy to take a bit of a drive and there does seem to have been quite a few requests for it to start to move southwards. So, does anyone fancy a mini meet/bonnet handover somewhere either on the way from Norwich to London or around London on either Saturday 17th or Sunday 18th December?

I am aware that other people's Christmas preparations may be a little less sedate than mine so I am happy to keep hold of it until early in the new year if everyone is busy.

Love and hugs, Teresa

Thank you to everyone who has already made a donation to the ‘Bonnet Across Britain’ - A2OC’s fund-raising event.

Our running total for donations to the Air Ambulances is nearly at £400!

Making donations through our web-page is easy http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/BonnetacrossBritainA2OC and the money is automatically transferred to the charity with any Gift-Aid tax relief (if relevant) added at the time.

Would be great if we could reach our target of £2500 over the year and know that A2OC funded one Air Ambulance mission.

Hoping that many more members will take part in 2017 and pledge a donation to this great cause

Thank you for your generosity

Hilary

Here Here.

And can I just put a little reminder to say that I will be looking to pass the bonnet on early in the new year as whilst it has settled well into my dinning room, I would quite like the space back quite soon.

I am happy to travel so please let me know if you are up for a turn. If I don't get any volunteers, I will choose someone! :)

In the meantime, Mabel and I would like to wish everyone a fabulous Christmas and a very happy 2017

Love and hugs Teresa (and Mabel) x

Come on guys, someone must be willing to take the bonnet on its next stage. There's a lot of interest to take part down south. It can't be that only two people own A2's in Norfolk, Gary and Teresa! and Teresa has said that she's willing to travel to hand the bonnet over to someone.

Ok. I need my dinning room back, so I'm going to pick someone by the end of the week. There was someone interested who works for a Mototcycle company I think and that sounds quite interesting

About 2 weeks in Finland ?? :p

I would love to have a trip to Finland. Unfortunately I don't think that work would be too happy if I disappeared for two weeks at the moment. :(

On a serious note, I don't actually have a problem with taking it abroad to pass on, if it can be done over a weekend (I am lucky and have Friday to Sundays off work). Looking at Ferries to Holland though, they are a bit pricey for just after Christmas!

I am currently looking into getting Mabel's NOX sensor changes at A2 Cars a week on Friday. If it can get that done, I can take it with me and either pass it on to someone on the way (I do know that we have some members down that way) or leave it with them and the next customer they have, has to become a member (if they haven't already) and take it on!

Sorry, only just seen this... I am in Ipswich and would be pleased to meet you and the bonnet.

I can also change an NoX sensor (rear one) but don't want to do Tony out of work - I need him to futureproof my sunroof and he'll probably add value when he gets your car on the ramp anyway.

I commute to London every day so can take the bonnet with me on the train and meet someone centrally.

I'm really glad to see the bonnet gain momentum again.

Thank you to Teresa for persevering with holding onto the bonnet all over Christmas and new year considering it was in your dining room.

Not been around much lately, so sorry for the delay. Yes, happy to be part of that - Peter (Zarona) is MK based too, so maybe an opportunity or two to be had with a mini-social.

Echo the comments of others - well done T for nursing the bonnet since the curry night and for the patience over the festive period whilst arrangements for hand-over are finalised.

Although not the right thread; a belated happy new year to all.

Cheers,

Darren

Hi Terasa now crimbo is over with i can meet you and taking it further south into essex possibly catch Darren in MK on the way? I'm sure we can meet up in suffolk if that suits you ? cheers mike

Ahh, it's like people have come out of hibernation :)

I too would like to see a picture on the train. With the bonvelope and inner case, it took two of us to manoeuvre. It's pretty massive!

I've not tied down a time with Tony yet (whilst I'm brave enough to turn up to a social for the first time on my own, I'd rather scratch my eye out than make a phone call, so I'm trying to arrange by email). Thank you for the offer too Simon. I might take you up on it if it can't get my act together.

Possibly a meet somewhere right between Ipswich and MK as we could get a few of us? I'm free fri, sat and sun most weekend for the next few weeks whilst I recovered fro the social excesses of Christmas and the new year.
