@Cenick the existing ones are also 150mm, so it got me thinking.

The hole in the alloy is about 148mm, the centre caps are soft plastic, 5 minutes with the DA and 80grit and this is the result

Just have to do the other 3 now
Fairplay for trying it out! I think as far as I would go would be remove rear seats!Well, after a week of commuting with no interior I have the following findings
- the car feels a lot lighter without the additional interior items
- the car is noticeably quicker
- it's a hell of a lot noisier
- its colder
- it's more uncomfortable
- it doesn't smell as nice inside
- there's more condensation
- my ears hurt
- every time I shut the door I wince at the tinny noise
Conclusion - i'm going back to having an interior and suffering the .something of a second difference it's making to the acceleration.
Currently have one door card off on Frank and the noise is unpleasant. Going back on today! Must be really noisy with it all out!Well, after a week of commuting with no interior I have the following findings

Makes sense. But the car is quick enough now with the additional power?Well, after a week of commuting with no interior I have the following findings

Yes, but being a petrolhead you always want moreMakes sense. But the car is quick enough now with the additional power?
That's a very good point, it's currently on ling lang ditch finders, so i'll change them soon for some decent treads. That will help to stop the wheelspin in the early gears and allow me to use the throttle more in and out of corners.Good decision there Steve.
Get really good tyres on it (if you haven't already) so you can make the most of the extra power which I think you will find would make more of a real world difference than stripping it out and losing all the comfort factor.
It is an A2 after all not a race car
Honestly the difference from Chinese budgets (aka ditch finders ) to the right tyres really is night and day and totally transforms the car. That's a very good point, it's currently on ling lang ditch finders, so i'll change them soon for some decent treads. After all they are the only part of the car that is in contact with the road and therefore the most important one for me
I’ve been super impressed with the Michellin CC 2’s on Tonka. Probably not as sticky as P Zero’s but fantastic in the wet and dry and not far off winters in the snow.I agree, the family car is on Pirelli P Zero's all round seeing as it carries the kids most of the time.
What battery do you have in Steve? I tried a 55Ahr in one of the FSIs, it’s much lighter and spins a 4 cal petrol just fine……Well, after a week of commuting with no interior I have the following findings

I fitted those to the Honda and have been good in the wet. The only issue is the wear rate. Looking at 12,000 miles and that's even wear. I drive steady too.I’ve been super impressed with the Michellin CC 2’s on Tonka. Probably not as sticky as P Zero’s but fantastic in the wet and dry and not far off winters in the snow.
Just the standard size battery, but i think i'll look to change it for something lighter. What battery do you have in Steve? I tried a 55Ahr in one of the FSIs, it’s much lighter and spins a 4 cal petrol just fine……
Remember the more even weight distribution the better and with you having a heavier block up front now you might not want to lighten the rear any more?Just the standard size battery, but i think i'll look to change it for something lighter.

Finished work early last night and made up a stainless exhaust system using 2 inch stainless pipe, a 200 cell sports cat and stainless free flowing box. Held it all together with a load of exhaust clamps and then headed up to my mate Rob this morning to weld all the joints up for me.

@Cenick was there collecting his TDi that has undergone a shed load of work over the last week so had a good chat for an hour or so.
How does it sound Steve?
