Hello to all A2OC members,

The purpose of this thread is to announce that I'll once again be based in Leighton Buzzard soon. At the beginning of the year, it was my intention to do a 'South East Residency' in the springtime, but various demands upon my time have kept delaying my trip.

From Saturday 1st July, I intend to base myself in Leighton Buzzard, just to the north of London. Massive thanks are owed to @Proghound for allowing me to work and live at his house. Compared to some previous open-ended visits, the length of my upcoming stay in Leighton Buzzard is limited to two weeks.
Of course, I shall do my utmost to fulfil as many requests as possible. Should the demand for my time exceed the number of booking slots, I will try to prioritise seeing as many club members as possible. As such, if your desires are likely to use more than a full day of my time, I may request that the job is either trimmed or delayed until a later opportunity.

Please be aware that there are some limitations to the range of services that I can provide when away from home. For example, some upgrades require parts that I won't have the space to transport. Some parts may be out of stock or unavailable due to Brexit implications or the continued impact of the Russo-Ukrainian war. I also cannot complete all upgrades at weekends, so anyone able to visit on a weekday is encouraged to do so.

At the bottom of this message, I have tagged many club members who have made contact with me in recent months who may appreciate my greater proximity. However, this is not an exhaustive or exclusive list; my services are open to all who are able to meet me.

A quick note from @Proghound:

Once the bookings are finalised I will PM everyone who's coming with the location postcode, 'last 50 yards' directions and, for those of you who don't have satnavs, route suggestions from the motorways. I look forward to welcoming you all, friends old and new :)

Hi Tom

Please can you book me in Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd July. The door microswitches you identified as needing soldering is one job, also fitting and calibration of the steering wheel angle sensor VCDS G85. I am not sure if you can fit the G263 Sensor for Evaporator, so haven't yet purchased it. If I know the part number I will buy it, but recognise it's an awful job so time permitting could leave it out. I've offered 3 days, please pick any of the dates and not sure if it's a half day or whole day you will need.
 
Tom, for the works as discussed on our PM, please put me down for a day or two half-days in the second week.

Just the thread I’ve been waiting for Tom! Looking at my calendar now and it’s likely to be a weekday.

@Proghound I recall Tom mentioning I may be able to work from a quiet place in the house during the visit as needed - I would be in your debt if this is the case as it would essentially allow me to “book in” almost any day (at first glance) and of course finally meet you both in-person.

That should be no problem David, my dining-room table and wi-fi are available and have been used for exactly that purpose in previous years. It'll be great to finally put a face to the username :)

Could I please come on the 3rd. July for my n/s rear window fix? I will bring super strength super glue and I think I've got some silicone grease.
I don't have a Dremel, which Paul recommends.

Morning slot would be grand.

I've got something similar to a Dremel if Tom hasn't. Also have silicone grease.
 
Hi Tom,
I'm flexible on dates, so see how my wants fit your calendar.
I'd like the loom for heated seats fitted, a USB lead to the top centre of the windscreen, for a dash cam, and a USB socket in the ash tray area.
I had intended to do this myself, but I realised my imagined practical abilities, sometimes, run ahead of reality!
I'll PM further details shortly.

Hi Tom, you'll be not too far from me, so if there's a weekend morning slot up for grabs, put me down for 2 x remaps for my 75 and 90, and cruise for the 90 please.

Can you book me in any weekday to activate the immobilizer after having fitted the pro boost ECU.
