The great and wonderful thing is: it's not what you know, but who!
Many thanks Ian, 'twas the service flap.
PS Every day's a school day.

It'll be good to meet you this time, sorry we didn't get the chance yesterday.Hey Tom,
Could I request Sat 15th PM to do Cruise control, heated mirrors and key programme?
No problem at all. I have replied to your PM.Hey Tom,
Could I request Sat 15th PM to do Cruise control, heated mirrors and key programme?
Hi TomIt's no problem, Hitesh. The days are divided into AM/PM because it makes the initial framework easy. As a general rule, I see two A2s per day. Some A2s require a whole day, but other quick jobs, like yours, can be squeezed into the gaps.
Are there certain days or times that would suit you best?
Cheers,
Tom

Sorry for jumping in on this but I would check your service flap to ensure it is fully closed. Or the tailgate etc. It fails to beep if it detects a door, tailgate or flap not fully closed. Sorry if you already know this. If it is not down to this the alarm beepers do tend to fail often. Just deliberately set off the alarm and see if that is silent too.Looking forward to the 3rd. July, AM. A tiny additional problem: my beep upon locking has just vanished. Hopefully this is not a presage to future drama. Hopefully.
Best,
Simon

Ta Much, alas I don't live in Cambridge, but it is closer to me and I might not have to take a day off of pesky workMark - Cambridge to LB is but a stone’s throw!
Hi Hitesh,Hi Tom
Don't know if you saw my last message saying that I couldn't make it on the 3rd. Since its only for activating my immobilizer should I just turn up one day between am/pm. Or better give a date.
I can reinstate the immobiliser by post, but it then won't start the car until it has been programmed to your vehicle. This is why ProBoost disable the immobiliser, as it allows their ECUs to be used on a plug-n-play basis. If you just need the ECU I can still post it.

Hi TomHi Hitesh,
The schedule is now almost full, which allows me to see which day can accommodate a small additional job, and which ones definitely can't. Thanks for your patience.
Your options are...
I hope there's a mutualy convenient time in there somewhere.
- Sat 1st, PM
- Thurs 6th, whenever
- Fri 7th, PM
- Sat 8th, PM
- Thurs 13th, PM
- Fri 14th, PM
- Sat 15th, whenever

If you wish an immobiliser-enabled ECU to start your engine, I must be in the presence of the vehicle.
Cheers,
Tom
Brilliant. I shall add that to my schedule.Hi Tom
Thanks for getting back to me. I will come on Thursday 6th around midday. Looking forward to seeing you and I presume you or Ian will let me know the address soon enough.

Hitesh
Hi Martin,Hi Tom and Proghound,
Could I have the last available slot please ? (unless anyone else is desperate for it nearer the time).
I will PM soon, there are a few things and I will have to decide what takes priority.
Is 10 to 10:30 ok ?
Thank you
Hi Tom,Hi Mark,
No, I shan't be visiting anywhere other than Leighton Buzzard; this is a residency, not a tour. I'm driving to Leighton Buzzard, working there for 16 days, and then driving home again. Some people, like yourself, are fortunate to live within relative spitting distance of Leighton Buzzard, whereas others have to travel for a few hours to get to me. However, this ultimately allows me to work on many more A2s within the time available, as I'm not spending time repeatedly packing up and moving my stuff over and over and over again.
You are, of course, welcome to visit. The schedule is now as good as full, but I'd certainly be able to find time to programme an additional key to your car; living with just one is a needless anxiety.
Let me know ASAP, please.
Best wishes,
Tom

When I last worked on your car, I was visiting a friend in Cambridge, so tied in the job on your car.

I'll be able to squeeze in a comfort blinker, heated mirrors and the key, but I won't be able to add heated washer jets; the gaps in the schedule are too tight for that, unfortunately. I tagged you in the opening post of this thread, just over three weeks ago, and was somewhat surprised when you didn't bite at the opportunity.Hi Tom,
If there is only time for the key then I will wait until spring 24 for the washers, mirrors, comfort blink
Hi Tom
It's a half day out of work for me as its an hour each way, so will order one from Marshalls Keys in Cambridge.
Will try to get my name down quicker in the spring as I would like the washers, mirrors, comfort blink and also to purchase some upgrade parts.
Thank you again for the consideration. Mark
